Re: nzaid incountry training application | 20060530 journalism training.doc (amended)

Kia orana,

Could you please withdraw my application on behalf of CIJA for funding under the above programme. Some of my colleagues think I have an agenda and say I am trying to make money off my association with CIJA. This obviously needs to discussed fully before the application proceeds any further. If and when it does it will come from the executive and not from me.

As we are hopefully meeting by noon tomorrow (Monday) I would appreciate an acknowledgement of this and earlier correspondence so that my colleagues can be sure I am being transparent and accountable.

Apologies for any inconvenience. My second application under the email-2-web proposal remains.

Meitaki maata,

jason

Kia orana,

Please find attached an application on behalf of the Cook Islands Journalists Association (in reformation) as per your advertisements for NZAID Funding for in-country training.

This is in response to long-standing calls for training in basic journalism skills and a need to access simple ICT tools that anyone with email can use.

As attached, two groups are targeted with this training application - journalists themselves, and, those supplying information to journalists, such as information officials, public relations people and NGO media officers.

In the interests of transparency between CIJA members and the public, this application will also be published on the CIJA weblog site.
